Hello. Any opinions on MP's Tusken Raiders 'Bantha Trax' release? I'm just in the process of acquiring various bits and pieces lately (managed to get hold of Gescom's 'EP', 'EP2' and 'Keynell' plus the Boards of Canada 'Hi Scores' EP). For the sheer hell of it, I decided to order 'Bantha Trax' plus Mira Calix's 'Llanga'. .+'''+. mark@sonance.demon.co.uk M A R K http://www.netlink.co.uk/users/sonance/ `+.,.+' http://www.sonance.demon.co.uk/

quoted 2 lines So how exactly are you just "for the hell of it" ordering a rare MP> So how exactly are you just "for the hell of it" ordering a rare MP > album and a ltd to 500 Warp release?
Well, over here in the UK I work for Virgin Our Price, one of the biggest music retailers in the country. We have this huge computerised database that's linked to all the other stores, as well as numerous distributors. For the hell of it, I regularly have a trawl through the database, seeing what I can find. 'Bantha Trax' and 'Llanga' both showed up on the database, meaning that one of our distributors somewhere is holding copies. If not, it'd be tagged as deleted or unavailable. It's worked before -- I've managed to get hold of every Gescom 12-inch, plus the Boards of Canada and Plaid EPs. You can't blame a guy for trying, can you? Oh, and before anyone tries, this is *NOT* an opportunity to start emailing me, asking me to order stuff for you. I will *ignore* such emails. I happened to mention where I worked before and I was flooded with requests for orders. Some guy even asked for about fifty CDs! I'm not a fucking mail order service! If anyone out there wants stuff, get off your butt and do it yourself! .+'''+. mark@sonance.demon.co.uk M A R K http://www.netlink.co.uk/users/sonance/ `+.,.+' http://www.sonance.demon.co.uk/

I think maybe its just a case of bandwagon jumping, you know someone says its crap and then others who haven't even heard the record join in - "it must be crap if he/she said so" blah blah blah.. Well I have a copy - AND ITS F**KIN EXCELLENT!! Dark, dirty and dangerous - if you like it hard you'll love it! If you don't like it, well I hear that Celine Dion is releasing a new record soon, maybe you should that look up??? Graham "Likes It Dirty"

it's pretty good, i have to admit. fat, non-I-but-still-DM techstep in the tradition of panacea (pre-"twisted designs") and including whatever synth everyone is using that makes those beautifully horrid, shuddering "agh! i ate a bad curry!" gut-rumbling bass noises. one listen to hecate's _hate cats_ 12", though, and tusken raiders sounded kind of mellow and a bit thick. still, the first paradinas thing worth the money since...oh, i don't know... _tango n vectif_ or maybe "approaching menace."
