U-Ziq release "Urmur Bile Trax Volumes One and Two" in January. It comes
as two 12-inch singles, followed a week later by a cd which features all
of the tracks.
Described as "drill'n'bass", tracks include "Urmur Bile", which features
sounds from Rub Ultra's "Oily Man Eel" and "Let Let", which samples
Ornette Coleman's "Virgin Beauty". There are also reworkings of "Tango
'n'Vectif"-era material such as "Phi* 1700(u/v)" and "The Sonic Fox".
U-Ziq play live at Pure in Edinburgh on New Year's Eve with Speedy J and
Andrew Weatherall. Next year, there'll be a compilation album of breakbeats
and the fourth U-Ziq album in the spring.
