T(ranscendental) L(ove) M(achine) - I've Got the Battery... Where's the Slot?
Hydrogen Dukebox - DUKE 028CD 2:96
okay, so it's on Dukebox... don't think Slab.
Think Orbital... think Orb... think Slam... maybe even a little Mark Broom.
A very nice 60+m collection of thinking boy/girl's techno. Mercifully free of
diva vocals (there's a mildly annoying female vox half-crooning-half-droning
something Joni Mitchell-style(!?) above the buzz of "My Head is Full of Wires,"
but no distaff aural assaults otherwise). Also relatively short on breakbeats -
a rarity these days. Uncluttered, sort of trance-y, slow, and highly melodic.
Just well-crafted "experimental" techno - no modifiers or buzzwords needed!
Worth investigating - even if just for the great package design. Hmmmm.... you
CAN judge some books by their nifty (pizza-box styled) covers!
I think it's wonderful. Anyone else agree? The perfect balm for an overdose of
Alec Empire, T.J., and Biochip-C 'blitzkrieg breaks'... same must be said for
the OUTSTANDING(with many - many - "!"s implied) _Return of Drexciya_ 12"...
question: this is pt. 2 of a ltd. 3-part series. Has anyone seen pt. 1
(_1-96:Recharged_) and pt. 3 (_3-96:Orgasmatronic_)? The oversized cardboard box
is designed to fit all three (jewel-cased) cds. Goes with their Lego-themed
logo: interlocking parts, yadda yadda...
