me thinks the pop star thing sucks too! At least there's some other people on the list (JOHAN) who like me want to focus on the music. Gonzi replied:

I agree that RDJ can be irritating at times, but I think his arrogance may actually be intended for pissing off folks so that he doesn't become a "star", who knows. Maybe he does his wierd shit b/c he knows people will eat it up or becuase he simply doesn't want anyone to know the REAL RDJ. I still don't understand the guy nor do I care to. Like Johan, I only want to focus on the music. However, if you were in a position like RDJ wouldn't you try to take advantage of it and mess with people's heads a little? I would. Maybe I am irritated b/c I am NOT in such a position (jealous). the most irritating thing about Aphex, IMHO, is that he is almost all we talk about on this list. And if he gets flamed, GONZI is comming to kick butt (sorry Fresh couldn't resist). At times, I mention CD's that I think are superb and others will say "Hey, yeah that Interloper CD kicks ass" and it ends there! On the other hand, a RDJ threads last forever. Personally, I'd rather watch flies fuck than read some of the useless threads about RDJ's latest gossip.Ugh. (maybe I am just a little frustrated) gmv500 gmv500@earthlink.net BTW I love RDJ's music (of course) NP: Otherness (M.Clifford remixes of CTs)

Here I come to kick some butt (or my name ain't Nathan Arizona)! Hehe. Seriously, I think the reason RDJ threads last longer than others is simply because everyone knows who he is. We can get into some mighty obscure shit here on IDM, even I (yes hard to believe) have trouble keeping track of the various artists, labels, etc. So of course people are going to talk more about stuff everybody has heard of than some obscure electro label operated out of somebody's basement for three months in Copenhagen by a blind taxi driver and three castrated midget brothers. _____ / ,-,_) /,_) (/ RESH Live & Direct from the G-Spot, Orange County, California, USA

Heh heh, that's exactly what our Sahko Recordings label is like, except that mentioned basement is situated in Helsinki, not Copenhagen ;) But seriously, it's nice that people are willing to discuss and spread information even on that more "obscure shit". At least that has been my own intention with our own local stuff here in tiny pHinland, though I must sound like I'm wagging my own tail here. Nothing against AFX, FSOL & Co. - I try to get most of that stuff in my hands, which can get a bit heavy to my wallet from time to time :) - but it's also nice to have some diversity, too, and maybe to open people's eyes and ears to the stuff they probably wouldn't hear about otherwise. Though I have to admit some most fanboy/trainspotter-kind of discussion on this list gets on my nerves sometimes (I don't cast the first rock though ;), as a whole IDM has been a great teacher for me, and I also try to share with others those little bits of info I may have myself. peace y'all, ekku the maintainer of pHinnWeb - everything u ever wanted to know about Finnish techno scene but were too afraid of the reindeer trerra@uta.fi | http://www.uta.fi/~trerra | http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb ************** Techno pHist will pHucking crush Britpop! **************

Sorry folks, but there are only two midget brothers now. The third was abducted last week. The blind taxi driver's still there tho'. Otto
