Indeed it has, and am I the only one who finds its undeniable charms somewhat diluted by a tendency towards the Bland-out? I should explain that I came to this CD having been bewitched and delightfully bothered by Torchsong's "Toward the Unknown Region" - on which Our Bill of the Circuitous Planetary Route strutted his ambi-dub-dance stuff in fairly high profile fashion, amidst serial-ethereal wispy female vocals and what sounds like echoplexed conventional guitars and piano. Hinterland is overall a pretty and occasionally . . . ahem . . . serious-buttage-kicking collection, but it is no Torchsong . . . What do people have to say about the previous offerings in the Strange Cargo project? Tell me everything. alan/beyondthebristolsound

you are correct. hinterland was kind of bland, whereas torchsong was totally incredible. get strange cargo 3. it's the best of the sc series. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jon Drukman jsd@cyborganic.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's my take: buy Strange Cargo III, and then stop right there. He's really talented, but he's also the world's greatest recycler. For example, the melody used in "Water From A Vine Leaf" appears on every single one of his albums, in one form or another, including on Hinterland. SCIII is where he more or less got it right, and everything else he's put out sounds like outtakes from that album. -Phil [----------] [---] [-----] [-----] [-----] [----------] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [----------] [----------] [---] [---] [----------] [----------] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [--------] [-----] [-----] [---] [-----] [----------] Home is where the stereo is!
