Hi, I have the opportunity to buy Aphex Twin's SAW II (the limited brown vinyl version on WARP) at a nifty price. However, I already have the 2cd version (missing one track of course). I wanted to know if the brown vinyl version is very limited (how many copies) and if it is at all valuable (as a collector's thing). Thanks, dv8

Well I've got No. 009620 of the Ltd brown triple pack, so I don't know how rare it is...What I can tell you is that the quality of the pressing is shit...I bought it sealed, got it home and was VERY upset...snap, crackle & pop...way too much noise for an ambient album. Guess what? I still play the shit out of it! (until there are more CD players in chill rooms) Hope that helps, brock np: "Flying High" - The Irresistible Force

i just got this from a guy on the ambient list. i paid too much for it, but since the cd version was the first current-era ambient release i ever bought (28 months and a shitload of dollars ago), it's got a lot of sentimental value. mine sounds pretty good except for the first side of record one.

one sure can't spin the cd version backwards, deep in the mix, or abuse it some other way like one can the vinyl... matt onnow: tod dockstader - quatermass (starkland reissue)
