Indeed. That track was massive. One of the biggest acid/techno tracks
in the UK at the time. I was well into acid and techno by then,
having been into house from way back in 86. In fact on Friday I
celebrate 10 years since buying my first house record, well it was a
dance compilation called "Upfront 1" which contained Steve Silk
Hurley's "Jack Your Body", which didn't get released as a single till
after Christmas.
I remember thinking "Slam" was shite, and not even bothering with the
LP thinking it was a pity they'd been such a one off. then later on
the Pulse EPs started appearing and the realisation started dawning
on me (and everyone else) that half of Jumpin' and Pumpin's (the
better half at that) release roster was all the same guys.
Then before you know, wierd shit like "Apex twins" (or something)
started appearing in the shops...
:)
