Never mind his Oscar-winning performance in 'Marty.' As to the original question of whether he's heard the Squarepusher track, the IMDB lists his address as: Ernest Borgnine 3055 Lake Glenn Drive Beverly Hills, CA 90210, USA So if anyone wants to send him a tape... He doesn't get out to raves much, but he is still alive. In fact he plays the doorman on the TV Series "The Single Guy." And I'm amazed you guys haven't mentioned the TV series "McHale's Navy." Where Borgnine was the skipper, and Tim Conway was the loveable dork. OBIDM: Port Rhombus is a lot of fun. I know, I know decaf's not quite as flavorful, but you really ought to give it try, bud. All this proves to me is that you haven't been listening to the music. What impressed me about the EBTG album is how _subtle_ the influences are. Take a track like "Before Today" -- structurally it isn't that grand a departure from what they'd been doing for years, but that bubbling bassline and rippling snares are integrated perfectly. unrelated ps: I wonder if anyone's played "Theme From Ernest Borgnine" for Ernest Borgnine yet... -- dave walker, detroit art services _ marmoset@mich.com born freeke mailto:marmoset@mich.com http://www.mich.com/~marmoset/

Yes, but how could you forget his pinnacle of achievement? AIRWOLF was the most a$$-kickin' show to ever wave the cold-war-era flag of USA jingoism. Not even David Hasselhoff in KITT (the Knight Industries Two-Thousand!) could have beaten Borgnine and Airwolf! (And I doubt that Airwolf would have even FLINCHED at hordes of aliens with neon-blue destructo-beams.) Now if anyone could give me an idea of WHY that song is titled as "Theme from Ernest Borgnine", I'd be indebted. I mean, is it as simple as "cool song for a cool guy" or... am I missing some data? Dale on now: sunburn, solarcaine (damn!) oninmyhead now: Telex _Looney tunes_ "Temporary Chicken" (heh heh)

Like Blade Runner, 2001, THX 1138, and, to an extent, Waterworld; a very "ambient" movie.
