I just heard this LP. WOW! He samples Oprah Winfrey in "Talk Show" and actually censors himself in the song. Clever! I also like the way he uses the sample of "Nautilus" by Bob James in the song "As the world rages". Go out and get this LP/CD now! :) Pedro Cevallos -- "...the world is a comedy to those who think and a tragedy to those who feel..." -- Horace Walpole -- http://www.geocities.com/mr_cevallos/ ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yes and are the cabbage boy releases any better than commuter world? ive heard they are. i was quite disappointed with commuter world. it is sort of a theme album, which is usually interesting, but i got pretty bored with this one, and i REALLY tried to dig it from beginning to end. it was hyped up to be something 'new and different', but i thought it was rather mediocre. maybe just didn't suit my taste. anyway - words on cabbage boy?

it's unmistakeably Begg, so perhaps you just aren't going to be into what he does. it's got a similar sense of humor, and plays with some of the conventions of dance genres the way "Commuter World" does. personally i LOVE the album, probably more than either the Buckfunk 3000 or Commuter World. also, i didn't sem to hear any of that "hype" about Commuter World being "new and different". in fact, i slept on Si Begg until the track on Funkungfusion, which left me more than ready for the full-length which i instantly fell in love with. if anything Si Begg seems to sort of fall through the cracks when it comes to proper recognition. maybe i just don't read the right trade mags. . . ymmv. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
