Rephlex sometimes puts the year it was recorded on the label instead of the year it was released. Cylobs Industrial Folk Songs came out in 95, but the label read 93. A few other of their releases are like this... /""'' /"'RESH Live and Direct from the G-Spot Orange County, California, USA

Hm. Or maybe it's the year it was supposed to be released. I have this theory that Grant gets in on these deals where if he gets a bulk number of labels printed up then he gets a discount or something. So then he goes and gets the labels for "Polyester" and "Industrial Folksongs" made (along with whatever else came out in 1993), but isn't actually have these particular records themselves pressed until later. I don't know why, but Rephlex seems to do this alot. Bluff Limbo was finished a couple of years ago. The Vulva CD was music from two years before. Alot of Rephlex stuff seems to take two years to be released. When I met Autechre in LA, I told them that I liked their remix of Kinesthesia. And they said, what, we did that so long ago. I am amazed that Squarepusher came out so soon, not two years from now. I'm not dissing Rephlex in anyway, I have alot of respect for them. And I buy most of their releases, I just wish that the could get things out sooner. Or let us subscribe to a Rephlex mailing list and buy advanced copies.
