I got Likethemes for UKP1.99 in a Virgin sale rack. Lucky me!! For all those who like the art/b12/stasis/blackdog style of things. Anyone know who Nuron is? I've only got LM-003 but the Nuron track sounds like Steve Pickton (Stasis) except maybe slightly sparser. OnNow: New Order : _Vanishing Point_ || [CiM] || s.walley@uea.ac.uk || http://www.sys.uea.ac.uk/~u9323899/

So i wonder, how good r the other releases from FV>LIKEMIND? The absolute best. I hadn't even heard of the one you've got, and I'm not sure how many have been released, but the two I have (LMO1 - Stasis/Nuron and LMO3 - Likethemes [various]) are just superb records, among the best examples of British techno there are. Likethemes contains tracks by Stasis, Nuron, Redcell (B12) and The Black Dog, but LMO1 does it for me - Electric Arc and Artifax are sublime and incredibly soulful pieces, and the fact they sound like they've been recorded on a dictaphone makes it even better - it proves that it makes no difference how much equipment you have, it's the ideas and feelings you have that make the music what it is. You might want to find the EP 'Circuit Funk' by Stasis, on Peacefrog, for more of the same kind of sound. Cheers, SjaY. *Fido* 2:250/151 *E-Mail* Geotrax@jukjoint.warp.co.uk ... Yes Likemind four is the latest Likemind release and, from what friends have told me, it may be the last one. I was told that label owner Paul Smith (aka Nuron and Fugue) has moved to Tibet or something like that and is not doing music anymore. So, if that's true, we'll have to make due with the four Likemind records we have, all of which are gems. I hope i heard incorrectly though. Likemind Discography: . Stasis/Nuron split 12" (Likemind/LM-01) . Fugue/Nuron split 12" (Likemind/LM-02) . Likethemes comp 12" (Likemind/LM-03) w/ tracks from Redcell, Stasis, Tura & Nuron. . Elegy+As One/Nuron split 12" (Likemind/LM-04) There was also some good Nuron/Fugue, Stasis and Eco Tourist tracks on the Kudos compilation CD called "Types" in case you're looking for more of the same "sounds." -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

you should own every one! the finest a.r.t style electronics you'll find anywhere. in particular, look out for the heavenly 'artifax' by stasis on LM01, and the epic 'reishi' by tura, one of black dog productions' finest moments. otoh, what's all the fuss about this bola single? i thought it was cheap, bland and lacking in anything with bite, as i've found with all d.fitton productions. just to echo the thoughts of someone who shall remain nameless, it sounds like a car commercial soundtrack. btw, select magazine rates wap100 4/5, and it just gets worse with every listen.. <waves> np - shadehead - the black dog

99¢ for a Likemind record? Lucky you! I have all the LM records and ended up paying a great deal for them all. All the Likemind label records are absolutely essential (if you can find them). Their records involve all the biggest names in early-IDM including Steve Pickton (Stasis), Steve Rutter & Michael Golding (Redcell/B12), Kirk Degiorgio (Elegey/As One), Andy Turner (Tura/Plaid/Black Dog), & IMHO one of the most overlooked artists in IDM - Paul Smith (Nuron/Fugue). Unfortunately Likemind hasn't released anything since 1996 so we'll have to make due with their four records: Likemind Discography: . Stasis/Nuron split 12" (Likemind/LM-01) - Stasis: Funky Purple Hotpants From The Planet Disco - Stasis: Belters Theme - Stasis: Artifax - Nuron: Madam 6 - Nuron: Electric Arc - Nuron: For Further Information . Fugue/Nuron split 12" (Likemind/LM-02) - Fugue: Contrapoint - Fugue: Interlagos - Nuron: Mirage - Nuron: In Motion . Likethemes comp 12" (Likemind/LM-03) - Redcell: The Silicon Garden - Stasis: Monolife (Rebuild) - Tura: Reishi - Nuron: Minutes . Elegy/As One/Nuron comp 12" (Likemind/LM-04) - Elegy: Flights of Fantasy - As One: Light - Nuron: Eau Rouge - Nuron: Slipstream -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

The 10" is just a two-track promo release for Music Has The Right To Children. Both the tracks on the 10" are on the album. The release you should track down is the BOC: Aquarius 7" on Skam. That one has a different version of Aquarius and a previously unreleased track called Chinook. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

Yes, that Stasis track was on the Point of No Return EP on B12 records. I believe a some of the Nuron & Fugue tracks ended up on a few Kudos record & Freezone comps. And the Elegy & As One tracks on LM-04 were put on the Objets D'Art III comp cd. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
