The only real definition I can think of is a simple hyperspeed cut-up of
timbres and drums, harmonizing with wobbly bass. Lots of tweaking and
noise filter in and out making it an enjoyable foot stomper. I've found
the best atmosphere for good jungle (RE: Squarepusher, Link,
Goldie...none of that over-hyped bedroom ragga bullshit) is riding the
subway while listening through headphones. I can't really dance to it,
but it sounds so good in a good hifi system. Jungle is supposedly the
future of music...I can't argue, as I'm thoroughly impressed with a lot
of newer material that artists have put thought into, rather than simply
cut'n paste.
