Mike and Rich, thanks for the memories: Well my friends spring is in our midst and the cold, cold earth shall soon thaw to release natures bountiful blossom. March has faded into April and (how could we have guessed?) still no sight of Mike and Rich from our friends at Rephelx. In 11 or so days, that will make it 4 months since any new material from our beloved RDJ (if you don't count Empathy Box Rmx). Looks like he's slowing down in his old age. RDJ Notes: There's been a lot of trash talk on here recently regarding Aphex. It seems all the closet Aphex haters have been crawling out of the wood work. Anyhow, it seems slightly dodgy (<- new word learned from English mag) that we're all getting down on him for his huge ego and being so full of himself when none of us personally knows him (except for Grant, wherever he is). If his head has gotten a bit big though you can't fault him. I think it might go to any one of our heads if so many trainspotters went salivating after every single damn noise we'd ever made and paid some of the prices I've seen floating around recently. As for this whole "if these are the good songs can you imagine what crap the unreleased stuff is" thing, I don't think this is true at all. It seems to me that when Aphex work's he records a bunch of songs in the exact same style with slight variations. Sometimes this bunch may appear as an EP of simmilar sounding songs i.e. Gak, HAB, or simillar songs may be released years apart, ie. some of things on I Care... and earlier work. So I think the huge backlog probably comes from each song having 5 or 6 brothers somewhat like it. Hopefully sometime in the future (when I'm an old man probably) some one will see fit so release some type of boxxed set of these recordings on some un-created format most likely. I've never gotten the sense from Aphex's work that he's been taking a piss and trying to test his fans to see how far astray he can lead them. If you like some of the songs more than others thats understandable, I have my favorites as well. But for every person that things AB 4 is utter crap there's someone who really likes it (such as myself). Peace out... -Fresh

Count me for that one too! The distorted beats and "elephant" screams you will never hear on any other recording...it is original, and hard. Track two is bubbly and fun, cheery. Three got lots of airplay at our local club for awhile, and I loved dancing to it, hard! And four, I think is SAW1'ish somewhat. My only problem when I took the release out of the packaging (mail) was that it was only four musical tracks. I needed more! (and still currently do) The Dean-O-Matic p.s. any AFX out there for sale?
