The word "ignoramus" comes too mind. It is absurd to try and ridicule someone just because you happen not to have the same musical tastes. Anyone who can recognize the genius in not only AFX's work, but also Prince's and Eno's as well (not to mention others) has so many legs up on you and your narrow-mindedness that you might as well be speaking Berber than talking about techno and idm. It bothers me that the minute someone passes out some information about upcoming releases (usually Grant), someone else feels the need to undermine it and spout off generalizations and just plain bullshit.

The April fools joke was your post...and it wasn't very funny. I dunno, maybe I'm just in a bad mood. Nah. That can't be it. I had a good day. : ) Andrew

I certainly appreciated the info about upcoming releases from Grant but I felt the Squarepusher hype "deserved" to be ridiculed as it was patently "absurd" and "over-the-top." If someone is going to post that kind of hyperobole they should expect a reaction. I didn't "ridicule" Grant's divergent tastes in music I just gave my "opinion" that Public Enemy and Prince are (in my opinion) not an appetizing combination for a musical project, much less a project that is IDM-related. I'm certainly "entitled" to give my opinion aren't I? Or is the fact that my opinion (and means of expressing it) are different than yours that makes me an "ignoramous"?

I still maintain that "genius" and "Prince" are two mutually exculsive terms, and furthermore, Prince has no real relevance to this list. Tony

If a record is that good, we'll know it when it comes out, because IDM'ers that get it will praise it. ...else, Grant's hype just backfires by appearing to be... uh...hype.
