No string in a didjeridu... Merci, Francois, for the Didgeridoo information. Thanks for correcting me about the stringless aspect of the instrument. I thought I had heard somewhere that it was the only well-established instrument in which the sound vibrations were generated by blowing air over a taught "string" in the body of the thing. Apparently I was mistaken, a condition with which I'm becoming very familiar. Could you perhaps give me, and others "dans la matrice" who may be similarly swaddled in ignorance, a little lesson on how the instrument actually does work? I LOVE its unique sound. Thanks! La conversation s'est poursuivie par: | I LOVE its unique sound. Thanks! Well, If you do then you are urged to check out Trance Mission's _MEANWHILE_ (and Stephen Kent's work in general). It's didgeridoo mangled with ethno-techno rhythms. Huge ! I can't remember their record label but I know it has a page on the web (great piece of information this ;-) A+ Marc.

Speeking of Stephen Kent, I just picked up Sound Column by Lights In A Fat City. Stephen Kent plays the didgeridoo over top of other acoustic instuments and thick digital samples. Definitely not IDM but definitely worth picking up. It's on the Extreme label. Didn't Stephen Kent do a recording with Johna Sharp?

Stephen kent played digeridoo woth Space Time Continuum on Terence McKenna's "Alien Dreamtime" video... Very nice music, if you can get past McKenna's whiney, annoying, nasaly, piercing voice.... Oh yeah, and the visuals by Rose X are decent too... michael
