er..ditto. moby is no good..musik for forty year old rock critics. that's what his records should be called. but that's beside the point--praise your country and fellow citizens fair britain, for you have the IDM market in your back yard. another disdainful staesman, saiki o.d.

Moby actually does a very varied style of music and if you are judging him just from the commercial singles ("Feeling so real", "Everytime you touch me", "Bring back my happiness" etc.), then you don't know what you are missing. Back in the old days when he was still on Instinct he released a couple of good 12"s which were compiled on "Early underground" which is his best album IMHO. And today he uses the pseudonyme "Voodoo child" for his underground acid techno -- but that's difficult to find if you don't live in the UK or order from Mutebank. But of course I agree with you concerning music in the UK vs USA...just don't forget Derrick May, Carl Craig, Josh Wink, and so on. And obtaining records in the USA? I haven't been there but I order records more frequently from there than from the UK, even though I live in Sweden. ********************* * Johan Jaatinen * * aniag@info.liu.se * *********************
