Errrmmm.... well, if you are reviewing rock n roll which sells billions of copies, promos are the way to go. IDM on the other hand has a limited audience; record companies that put out the best stuff are rarely rich from massive album sales, you know, and can't send out promos to magazines or whatever that will probably dis the records cos they don't have lyrics or something.... let alone sending them to underground type reviewers who don't reach many potential buyers with their reviews. Besides, all members of this list are required to go out and spend all their money and time hunting for and buying everything that comes out.

Hmmm. I only review IDM and non-lyrical/experimental music.

I write for a magazine that is distributed in at least three major cities, including atlanta. Not too big, but it is a decent sized audience.

I saw a CD of cybotron stuff last weekend. It had 'Clear' on it and 10 other trax..... The copyright was 1990... I couldn't tell if it was a rerelease or new stuff or what... Was I stupid not to buy it? Nope, it's the old stuff - 1983 I think. It's still in print on Fantasy, the label that raped John Fogerty. There's a much better comp available from the UK, I think on Interface, that has all the good tracks from Clear (Enter), plus some bonus mixes and Techno City. > Was I stupid not to buy it?
