1. WHAT is a punter? 2. WHAT is a trainspotter? 3. WHO is this Leo Anibaldi guy mentioned in the Rephlex ad in Muzik and what is he all about? Does anyone have this record? 4. WHY is it that I'm the only one of my friends into IDM and I have to do all the footwork (ie. finding out about new releases, discovering new artist) by myself? 5. DOES anyone know the domestic (U.S.) release date for Clear by Bomb the Bass on Quango? 6. WHY is it that every damn record store in LA has 50 cheesy house records to every 1 drum&bass record? 7. WHY doesn't some enterprising young IDMer who has all the Caustic Window Joy Rex ep's clean them up real nice and record them to DAT, then make a bunch of those homemade CD's of it and sell it through the list for like 20-25 dollars? maybe 30? You are garunteed to get loads of interest and make some nice money for yourself while at the same time helping out your fellow IDM fans. Besides, RDJ has said he doesn't care what happens to his tracks once he's done with them and Rephlex will NEVER re-release these, so why not? Soemthing to thing about... 8. Literally, someone who lives in the UK and makes a hobby of writing down the numbers on rail cars, hoping some day to see every rail car in Britain. Figuratively, someone obsessed beyond all reason with something.

Because your friends suck. Drop 'em. Recorded music is like chocolate chip ice cream. That bland white stuff is Mariah Cary, Madonna, and Green Day. The chips are stuff like techno, reggae, industrial, etc. You gotta wade through a lot of vanilla to find the chips.

Cheesy house is club music. Drum&Bass is, well, drum&bass. You can round up 50 raver types and 49 of them will like house and 1 of them will be into jungle. Of course that's beginning to change.

Umm .... because that's illegal? If you think you want to do something like this mail to rephlex@dircon.co.uk and ask about licensing the tracks for a CD release. You can get 1000 CD's pressed up for about $2k, and sell 'em on the net, and through Watts. I suspect that they're definitely holding off on releasing these themselves both because of artist's wishes and wanting to push out new stuff over old stuff. I've no idea how receptive they'd be to licensing..

Someone (usually British) who stands in a train station and writes down the numbers of trains passing through with the hope of seeing every train. A record trainspotter is someone who collects details/facts/limited editions/entire discographies etc. Eg - trying to own every Richard James record.
