A couple weeks ago, I picked up [las vegas], and I think it's great stuff. I've listened to some other work by Gas and enjoy it's minimal drone, but I think what I like so well about the burger/ink album is the really lush and hypnotic melodies. I guess my question is, who's the melody-maker behind this project, and what else is there that approaches this type of sound? A second question. For those of you who have Modulation and Transformation 4, how similar, on average, are the works presented to the artists' portfolios as a whole? I guess the reason I ask is because after developing decidedly luke-warm feelings towards many of the tracks, I would end up hearing the artist's work elsewhere and really enjoy it (eg, Scanner, Lithops...). I always assumed that M&T4 was a compilation of "ambient" artists displaying their wares, but I'm starting to get the feeling that it might just be general idm personae deviating from their normal ways an cutting a more clicky/glitchy ambient track. In general, most of the tracks on M&T4 are representative of the artist's styles that they display on their own releases. If you have any artists in particular you are interested in investigating then let us know which ones and dozens of listmembers will offer their advice/recommendations. .
