Hi, As far as I know, SSR is still a subsidiary of Crammed Discs in Brussels, Belgium. Members of Bel Canto (out of Norway) and later Biosphere have released records on SSR in the early days. Maybe that explains why you would think it's from Scandinavia.... Could it be there is a scandinavian SSR as well ? If so, ignore this post :) Bye, Allert Allert Aalders - Big Time Concepts - allert@knoware.nl - allert@riv.nl

Simple Biosphere question -- I got a used Biosphere 12" last year on X-Ray records, which is kind of minimal environmental house (rainstorm sample, 909+bassline(not ACEED)+organ). This disc was nothing like Patashnik. I don't normally buy house records at all (why buy 'em when I more than get my fill at parties?), but I kinda like this. Is there a bunch of this stuff out there? In an interview on the Biosphere web page, he said he makes ambient in the winter when it's dark and house in the summertime when it's light. Seems like a reasonable policy. I guess this was a summertime 12". --------------------------------------------------------------------- Home Page: http://I.m.too.dumb.to.hack.html/~kent Kent Williams kent@inav.net (319) 338 6053 (home) (319) 626 6700 x 219 (work) (319) 626 3489 (fax)

correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think this is the same "biosphere". i think this is from the same people who did the frquency-x records on the same label. this was out quite a bit before the biosphere on apollo. there was also ANOTHER biosphere at this time ('91) who was actually mike ink and j.burger. it was on the old trance atlantic label. david *+* on now:sourcelab lp
