Thanks Alex, as usual bring the list back down to earth. Well except for some. It was almost as fun as reading the article to see edhall@weirdnoise.com and "Digita'lis /" <erichward@hotmail.com> make abject fools of themselves replying seriously to Alex's latest satirical (or admittedly semi-satirical) post. Honestly, if calling it op-ed wasn't enough, how about the last two sentences:

I laughed out loud... The whole article is written in mock-serious Editorial tone, and I guess it's some measure of Alex's success as a satirist that some people were taken in. Don't you remember back a couple of months (don't know exactly when) to Alex's last Reuterz article? Ah well, thanks Alex. I'll stay on the list as long as you're there to make something worthwhile out of all the garbage we get subjected to... You're only proving my point, Peter, by reinforcing the whole "gotcha" mentality that is becoming ever more popular on the list. You'll note that I made no criticism of Alex's satire, but rather took up the same issues from a flatly non-satirical point of view. Elitism will ultimately administer its own cure, as the in-group thins itself down to one individual and the poseurs are all identified and properly mocked.
