AH YES!
Another chance to hype this CD. It is an anniversary issue CD of Irdial
Discs UK. They are militant about analog recording so this CD is a sweet
chance to get a great sampling of the catalog on a digital format. It
features GREAT artists like Aqua Regia (mentioned in another post),
Neuro-Politique, Ramjak Corporation...
It is an excellent collection of techno's truly absurd. I wouldn't
suggest it for the raver who wants to get some big hit tunes to blast at
the folks in the next car on the highway. It is, however, some of the
most incredibly original music out of the UK. It ranks with inspirational
labels like B-12, ART, Black Dog...
It's a beautiful CD with artwork taken from Japanese soft-porn
aninimation. The music is not for the timid as the cover art might
suggest. You wont find snappy tunes that make you want to jump up and
boogey but they will carry you to a place no other electronic music has
dared to go.
I'd prefer to suggest that EVERYONE go and buy the complete Irdial
catalog. It's money well worth spent IMO but if you want a killer double
CD to listen to while geeking away at the computer or you want something
to frighten off those useless friends that never seem to get a clue and
keep hanging around then this is the CD for you.
In three short words, it's
wacky, weird, and wonderful.
