In a recent mailing that I came across once I paid my aol. bill, Guy Eldon reviewed a four-track EP called "Electro: The New Electro Sound Of London". My guru, Mad Mike, warned us that it would be just a matter of time before the Brits tried to rewrite history and claim the current Electro revival as their own... I hate such hyperbolic titles as that...we all know who REALLY brought back Electro, RIGHT..? --DJ T-1000 ...keepin' 'em honest

I hinted at this in my private email to the person asking about Elektroids "Kilohertz". (Warp at its worst IMO.) I don't know that electro ever went away. It's influence was (and is) strong in the whole techno/idm/industrial-dance spectrum. All that has happened is the style has cycled back around, and turned into new stripped-down shapes that more explicitly recall the early-80's electro-funk. Try emailing submerge@msen.com (with whom I am not affiliated), and they'll hook you up with the real thing from Detroit. You won't regret it.
