I talked to those who would be the penultimate authority on the release of the new Richard H. Kirk, _The Number of Magic_. That is, the Wax Trax store. (The ultimate authorities would be Warp and probably TVT.) They don't have it, and have not seen it. I don't think it's out in the US. If anyone should have seen it, it would be Wax Trax.

I feel so special. I have a Wax Trax release before Wax Trax. Apparently Tower takes priority as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't TVT buy WaxTrax outright? I mean, as far as i know there's no more connection between WaxTrax the record store and WaxTrax the label than the name. Besides, I think it's a little silly to tell people they've been buying imaginary records... on now: IDM/313/LOW list member Morgan Geist's tasty "Quadrilocular" EP on Metamorphic (buy it!) -- dave walker, detroit art services _ marmoset@conch.aa.msen.com born freeke Dave Walker

(slap :) All I know is anytime a new release comes out on Wax Trax, the shop adds it to their large display hawking Wax Trax product, and until now they've had Wax Trax releases at the Wax Trax shop before they have been available elsewhere around Chicago. Furthermore the stock at the Wax Trax shop is mostly Wax Trax product. And as far as Tower goes, there are 3 locations in and around Chicago who did not have it as of last night. I don't deny that people out there have it, but if it's been available in Chicago it ain't available now.
