Nine Deadly Venoms is a brilliant album which I more or less fell in love with the first time I heard it. This is despite my mate telling me it was crap. I love all the samples and it makes a change to hear something a little out of the ordinary. The main thing I think is to just get out of it and get into it and you'll be surprised. Autechre's new ep, "Garbage" is also well worth a listen. It can only be described as being mad. Rick!

re Planet Dog Peel Sessions. This is an album well worth getting. The Eat Static tracks are amazing ( especially Zarbi and Bioforms ) and Timeshard are cool. There is one Timeshard track ( God Says No To Tomorrow ) which I haven't seen anywhere else so the Peel Sessions is well worth getting for this track alone. The only drawback is that the Banco De Gaia stuff is on his first album which was a bit of a disappointment when I bought the Peel Sessions album. Last Train is out now though and it's ace so I'm not to bothered. A tenner well spent? Definitely. I went to see Timeshard on Saturday in Southampton and they were fucking great. Pure analog heaven and their new single "Zero" is cool as well. I know this next question isn't IDM but I must find out why is the Ace Of Spades the most elaborately decorated card in the pack? I'm sure there is a completely obvious answer I've overlooked but if anyone knows will they please tell me! Cheers, Rick.

In card games, the Aces is the best card you can have (Ace beats King, etc), in games that have a trump card (Bridge, etc.) Spades beat any other suit (e.g. the 2 of Spades beats the Ace of Hearts). So the Ace of Spades is the best (highest) card in the deck. Sombody asked about the sample in "Come on you slags!", sombody has already said one of the samples is "I`m going to give you a comming out party, at your house!", but I can`t quite figure out what the other sample is saying, somthing like "..... thats not my idea of a fantasy ...." whats being said!?
