Entertainment Weekly, a US mag that isn't exactly a shining collection
of quality reviews, dedicates the music section this week to "ambient" music.
The reviews are on four albums - Deep Forest's new LP, Spanners, Global
Chillage, and I Care Because You Do. Starts off badly by implying that the
prime example of the "new ambient" is, uh, Deep Forest. Gave DF something
close to a B+, Spanners a B, and GC a B+. The author gives high marks to I
Care... (A-), suggesting "Ventolin" is like punk because its high-pitch noise
annoys the heck out of you. Whatever. Crap graphics included. (They should've
just put RDJ's cover portrait on it.)
