I got Hot Flush. . . It's like a jazzy Gallon Drunk if you ask me. Cool, yes, but hardly the thing you'd expect Warp to snap up. the "Snapper" single was totally different. But yeah, the LP could be amazing. . . Paul.

could anyone give me the lowdown on the Red Snapper releases? I saw Hot Flush at the shop, listened to it, and was about to buy it when my ATM card siezed up on me...i liked it in a mo-wax, upbeat jazzy sort of way (and initially wanted it for the sabres remix), but what is the other release and how does it compare? mikebee ::Michel.Battaglia::::San.Francisco:California:::::mike@organic.com: ::mikebee@freenet.scri.fsu.edu::::http://organic.com/~mike::::::::::

The only track I heard off thefirst EP was the track "Snapper" which was an ace moody hip hop type thing with a killer drum line. Sounded more Mo Waxy / Ninja tuney than the latest single. Paul.

What is it with all these names anyway? I'll add it to the list next to Wagon Christ's Throbbing Snatch, Caustic Window's Cunt, and Vulva's Dark and Vulvic. Lovely. :) :: Alan M. Parry :: fluid@hyperreal.com :: <finger me for PGP key> :: http://hyperreal.com/~fluid

and, if so, what is it like? I hear they have a >>full-length release coming out on Warp, but find what I've >>heard so far a bit so-so. the album is out already and is excellent. unfortunately it is just their first 3 singles combined into one release. i was looking forward to at least a couple new tracks :-( i'm not sure which track you heard, but it is all really good. the music is actually pretty hard to pidgeonhole. some of it reminds me of the slower jazz influenced track the beastie boys do, but w/o the rapping. other have more of a lounge feel to them and one even reminds me of tortoise. the sabres mix of hot flush is excellent too. it is nice to hear live drums and a real bass in this kind of music (acid jazz/trip hop/whatever). on now:new monojunk 2x12" (it is a total acid mindfuck) david *+*

With all this discussion of Kid A - which I just picked up today & haven't yet listened to, beyond a few tracks - but I have to plug the new Red Snapper album. Excellent hybrid of funk, rock, electronica... subtle and sexy and immaculately produced. i haven't always been a fan of them, but this record is great. Alot of tracks from many artists can be played at either 33 or 45- this is the fun of spinning. Adesh and I share records, and we are constantly playing them at different speeds- it's all about how you want to hear it. Does anyone know about adjusting technics to +/- 16?

I've just come from the live here in Kiev and must admit it was the best concert I've ever seen (well, I saw almost none). The sound quality was astonishing and the whole show was a masterpiece for fans ears. I hope they liked the crowd for we liked them so much! Tracks from the new album twisted with old favorites. RS are Professionals. Wish I could tell that about organizers...the crowd at the doors.was disgusting...a friend of mine could not get there even with the tickets and decided to leave as he did not know that RS shall play only two hours after... 8( If anyone from Warp watches this I would like to thank you from all RS and Warp fans in Ukraine for your attention to our soil. Hope to hear from you soon. Promise big crowds! 8) Alien np. Yeah, I've done it a couple of times and it's quite an easy operation although it might sound tricky. There's complete instructions in the SL-1200 faq at hyperreal: http://music.hyperreal.org/dj/sl1200.html Be warned, though. If you adjust it too much/too many times you may mess us the pitch control on your 1200 for good. I've managed to adjust mine to spin at about +/-16 but the steps on the slider are not as smooth as in normal +/-8 state. Also, be very careful not to damage the rotor magnet when lifting the platter as this may kill the motor. Hope this helps sire np: Jake Slazenger - Makesaracket --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
