Last summer the classic 2 Bad Mice track 'Bombscare' came out with a '94 remix. I picked up the 10" vinyl in NYC, and loved it. Going through the used bin, I found the CD single of the same thing, only it has a very cool Moving Shadow remix. Some of the same driving beats, with some new breaks and scratches thrown in for good measure. For $3, can't be beat -- look for it! SO wot's the deal with SM:)E and 2 Bad Mice? Are they going to release any more 2 Bad in the US??? -- kent.williams@cadsi.com I've met Timmy from 'Lassie', Phyllis Diller and PDQ Bach. What's your brush with Fame?

You've GOT to be kidding! Bombscare is typical cheesy rave music! Not intelligent in the least bit. I can handle the 50 billion posts about RDJ's newest commercial release but BOMBSCARE!!! Give me a break! Dance Arena Productions BARELY gets mentioned on this list and it's some of the most appropriate music for the list. (esp. the Shiver stuff!) Does anybody have a clue what's up with ART? Kirk De Giorgio is one of the greatest musicians of all time... Shouldn't something be due out soon? It's been awhile since Unexplained Phenomyna was out and that's the last I heard. -robert ______________________________________________*AudioElectronic*_____ Sampling the 808 is like shooting an animal sonic explorers \ and hanging its stuffed head \ in your livingroom! - (mw) __\

I got the Elegy EP (ART 6) in december 94. If you see this, listen before you buy as it's not exactly the best ART release. Just some minimal wanna-be-jazzy sequencer patterns that are interesting for one minute but loop for what seems to be a eternity... What's up with Kirk D? Dunno, but I saw him at a party in, surprisingly enough, Dayton, Ohio just a couple of days ago. I didn't get a chance to introduce myself, though. The party was very nice, btw, with fine DJ sets by Claude Young and Carl Craig. But I can't say I know what DeGeorgio was doing in Ohio (he wasn't spinning), unless he was just hanging with C.C. ----------------------------------------------------------------- dave walker, detroit art services marmoset@conch.aa.msen.com sivie minieskrot Dave Walker

I didn't think that Elegy was Kirk D... And I agree; the Elegey 12" wasn't too hot.

This was privately sent to me but I have a feeling that it was meant for the list since there is a question posed to the list... On Mon, 22 May 1995, Joseph Savastano wrote:

BTW my post wasn't an outright flame. I didn't say anything negative about Mr. Williams. If he has the right to post that he likes a track, I have the same right to say that it's cheesy and commercial... I have an immense affection for Dub but I don't mention it here because It's not apropriate for the list. I'm not questioning anyones taste here I just don't see how 2 Bad Mice is IDM. Should we start talking about other commercial techno like Pragha Kahn and 2Unlimited? Lot's of people like the stuff... -robert ______________________________________________*AudioElectronic*_____ Sampling the 808 is like shooting an animal sonic explorers \ and hanging its stuffed head \ in your livingroom! - (mw) __\
