Is this thread still on??? OK, then let me add my 2 cents. Those first silver coloured Sahko Recordings 12" covers, with the label logos printed on them with rubber stamps, and with those drilled holes - everyone of course drilled individually :) Heck, there were drill holes even in the records. Worst Warp? Hmm, dunno. I wasn't exactly into Coco Steel & Lovebomb CD (ambient handbag???), although their 'Feel It!' is still, and will be, an ace single :) ERkki Tampere, pHinland trerra@uta.fi

What's the point? Isn't this list about music? What's the problem w/ you buttplugs, anyway? Do you not have anything better to do w/ your time than look & write about album covers? My pick? - any white label. Album "art" is just a cheap commercial ploy to entice the same kind of people who buy "Soap Opera Digest" on impulse in the checkout aisle to buy something w/ which it usually has absolutely nothing to do with. Get a life, or at least buy a vowel. chill

actually - there is quite a bit to be said for album cover art - I, for one find the discussion pretty interesting - guess that makes me a BUTTPLUG.

Wow - you're really on top of this. I can really respect a person that can see the validity in package and graphic design. A 'cheap commercial ploy' huh? Wouldn't life be grand if everything was packaged in a jewel case with no other info? Or maybe it should just be the track listing - black on white. EVEN BETTER!!!! - Just some cupons for grocery shopping - now THAT would be good.

God - you're good. Go screw yourself. Sorry to cater to the lowest common denominator here people - but as a graphic designer - THIS pissed me off.

Why? It's completely self-indulgent, wankering vendetta fodder. Obviously this person cared way too much about album art at one time and is having his Big Turnaround. Ah, to dream of a world populated by idm'ers who are not in a constant state of backlash against something they once bought hook, line and sinker. Oh well. The point is: if album art is unimportant, why be upset about it? It's entertainment; any piece of it which a person enjoys, is somehow good. Che appears not to enjoy any of it; only to view it on different levels of importance. einexile, the lowest common denimonator i guess :)

I cats one more vote in the "Album art is important" direction.... with no faces or personalities to visually represent the music. the art is all there is...... as a Visual artist (photography) I thnik a visual portion of the package is essential....... now if only these artists were into photography more! ian>wpg>canada>
