I thought I could add my two cents worth about the new Gescom album on
Clear records, entitled "The Sound of Machines" (I think)....
For Autechre fans, this is cool; fast, beat oriented, and very
original techno. The percussion is one of the most outstanding
aspects of this new EP. It just builds and builds on each track
until the first couple minutes, before they start fusing in
some dark, creepy melody. By the end of the song, yer ears are
engrossed in sweeping melody, and an incredibly hypnotic beat.
For those who haven't heard Autechre before, or those who have
heard Autechre, and don't get enough because it's too light...
this 12" is _probably_ for you.... (note, that I'm not just
glorifying it....I'm learning, I'm learning...)
Now, if I could just get my hands on those first 2 deleted
Gescom EPs....
Oh, and to continue the Autechre pronounciation debate:
is it Geh-skom, or Jeh-skom?
