Anyone got the Soma compilation ? It's got a Ritchie Hawtin mix of Slam's
Positive Education and other interesting looking stuff on it. I just wondered
what it was like, whether it was worth buying. I got the Concept in Dance -
Digital Alchemy comp. yesterday and some of that is quite quite fierce. It
tends to plough a similar furrow all the way through (lots of filter sweeps
disappearing off into the echoey distance and insistent kick drums powering
away). So, on the face of it, it's not that subtle, but listen again and there
is some other stuff going on.
I reckon it's a pretty top-dollar compilation, the only draw back being that it
makes you want to turn it up and up to neighbour unfriendly levels . Definitely
for putting on before you go out to get you in the mood. And for when you get
back to keep you there. I liked it.
