I shouldn't have posted that drug message. I called them "frugs" at one
point, it was terribly written, and Dan Sicko told me to start using caffeine.
I do, Dan! It's...(sssip!)...some serious shit! ;-*
"PURVEYORS OF FINE FUNK" is a newish one on Peacefrog. Dan Curtin and Totsuro
Hayashi. 2/3 of Deep Rekkids, if you must know. Nice stripped-yet-not
tracks, lotsa frugs and 707 and 808, bit a bubbling and some 303. Sounds
boring in writing, but isn't overall. "Arizona" and "State of Mind" are choice.
With hope we'll see more of Tots in the future, perhaps on his own? He's
a great DJ btw (so I've heard)
Other stuff heard lately, not necessarily new:
SONIC SUNSET - nice, clean in the new Juan vein ala TE EX 3...swingy. Still
love the older stuff or Metroplex newies more though...
INDEXA PHILOSPHER - Nev...can't say much except buy it. I lost the CD so
grabbed the vinyl recently. To those who have non-DJ status, or access to
either format: maybe it's me, but the CD sounds better in this case, less
bass-heavy. Perhaps my imaginato.
NEW TELEPATHIC EP- can't remember the name but has one great track, one average.
Anybody have anything to say about Kelly Hand's other schtuff besides WARP's
"Acid 101" ep? How about her remix of "Throw?" Thanks and c-y'all...
