(alreay posted tihs once (some months ago).. BDP or The Black Dog consists of three persons: Andy Turner, Ken Downie and Ed Handley. As far af I know these people are behind the several pseudo's: Tura (on Experimenta A13) : Andy & Ed Repeat : Andy & Ed Balil : Ed Plaid : Ken BDP or The Black Dog : Andy, Ken and Ed they use more pseudo's btw.. As you can see Ken isn't that much in the musical business. He's more computing, you should check out his (their) bbs! Their number is in the artist stuff at hyperreal.com (gopher or WWW). btw. Not that it really matters, but i think Repeat are Ed and Andy + Mark Broom... Btw, in an article in the NME, 29 tracks for the new BDP album 'Spanners' are mentioned but my tape has 'only' 19. Is this a misprint? Anyway, it will finally be released january 16! I don't really know the details but it seems that the members of BDP make up new names for whatever projects or groups they're working with. Just curious. not definitively, just that the trax credited to "balil" seem to have a more "eastern" / "darker" sound to them. as opposed to the more upbeat hiphoppy sounds of some of the other BDP monikers, ie plaid. case in point is the stunning balil track on AI2, which reminds me of a mad chase through nepalese opium dens. Yep, I know that 2 or 3 tracks on Bytes are credited as Balil. Other names they go under that spring to mind are The Clan, Eco Tourist, The Black Dog, IAO and one or two other names I can't remember. As far as I know all 3 members from BDP perform in all the other various incarnations as well.

Can't say I have, but I only Bytes and Parasight from the AI 2 comp. Also I eagerly await the release of Spanners. Regards, John
