|How's the Seefeel thing (_Polyfusia_, I think it's called?)
Funny - happened to be listening to it when I read your post, so figured
it would be appropriate to respond. Despite, the bashing that Seefeel
have gotten on this list and in other forums (repetitive, MBV knockoffs,
etc.) I really like 'em and and really like this disc, which is a
compilation of earlier EP's. In fact I like it better than Quique.
Locust's engineering work is superb, the AFX 'fast' and 'slow' mixes of
"time to find me" are incredible, and the Sine Bubble 'embossed dub' mix
of 'plainsong' is one of those awesome mutated mixes that almost is
unrecognizable as a mix of the original.
seefeel makes music that ripples and overlaps its self in a VERY
hyptnotic fashion, and even when they just create a massive wave of lush
sound that isn't going anywhere, its soothingly beautiful. I think the
'repetitiveness' rag is due to the fact that some of the transitions and
evolutions are so subtle and gradual that it takes an active listen to
really sort them out. An excellent disc well-worth purchasing, IMHO.
