Does anyone know what Beaumont's past lives were?
After listening to the CD and the Ltd. Ed. LP of "Texturology", I'm convinced
that he had to have been some sort of Industrial chappie at some point.
Evidence: he uses a lot of non-Techno, "Industrial" rhythms in certain tracks.
Tracks 3 and 4 of the CD (sorry 'bout no titles, it's at home and I'm at work)
and one of the tracks on Side C of the Ltd. Ed. LP sound just like Skinny Puppy
Gone In The Right Direction, and if someone were to slap on Side D of the Ltd.
Ed. LP and tell me "This is the new Scorn `Ambient Dub' album `Evanessence'",
I'd fall for it hook, line & sinker.
My "What the Skinny Puppy album could have been" LP is shaping up so far as
follows:
- Young American Primitive's "Sunrise"
- Those 3 "Texturology" tracks
- Half of "Weathered Well"
Anyone suggest any others? (When I hear tracks like these, I just have to laff
at all the r.m.i. postings w/ "Oh, I *hate* that Ambient/Techno crap" ... )
Maybe I should rent a DAT machine and record these and troop over to American
Recordings and tell Rick Rubin "Here's their master tape, dude!" :^)
