I just listened to the Dust Brothers rmx of Primal Scream's Jail
Bird, and it is pumping. They are up to their usual sub-bass
trip-hop beats. This one has a very different sound to it,
however... It's slower, I'd guess about 110bpm (didn't check for
sure, but I have a pretty good ear usually), and it has more of a
funk-trip-hop type of feel. Starts out with a pounding rhythm
line... Highly amplified bass and snare playing through distortion.
High pitched acid-like noises filter in and out of the mix
throughout... Ascending and descending at the limit of human
hearing, quite the head trip. There are a few sampled guitar sounds
thrown in during the middle of the song which I don't like too much,
but overall, it's a great track. I'd give it an 8/10.
