You easily forget.. Juan and the gang are always talking about how they used to drive down to Chicago to hear the house and electro mixshows on WBMX.. Much of techno as we know is decendent of Derrick May's fusion of the the electro sounds with the house groove.. sure you could argue that what Juan was doing wasn't house, but the majority of released techno followed more closely with Derrick's vision.. Dan Bell once pointed out to me that "In The Begining" was actually the formal end of techno as us electro fans know it..
