anybody on this list who wants to come to a small pre-ambient get
together at my place (reasonably large space, buckets of IDM to listen
to, gawk at, geek out over) is welcome - send me private email for
details. my roommate is attempting to get Mixmaster Morris himself to
drop by the house prior to the gig. it could happen.

174 King Street is a nice little venue. Most of the problems that
Brian has mentioned have gone away lately. Or at least they haven't
been as noticeable. Anyway, one of the persons involved with the
party told me it's going to be pretty cool - they are going to carpet
the entire place and provide beanbags so you can chill in style.

Ozric Tentacles are: progressive rock, space music, reggae, trance and
lots of other stuff all mixed up together. Heavily sequenced synth
stuff trades off against huge rock guitar solos. The band goes into a
total Hillage-esque space out only to suddenly drop into a spliffy
reggae groove and then into Motorhead style speed metal for a few
minutes. If you can't stand any sort of rock music, you won't like
it. I love it. Try the two domestic issues (cheap!) first:
"Strangeitude" (title track wouldn't be out of place on an Orb album)
and "Jurassic Shift."
