I picked up Kenny Larkin's "Azimuth" album yesterday. Some of the tracks
are pretty good, but the soundscape is in a very conventional Detroit style.
I think it's the first time I've felt that I'm not particularly excited by
the 303. Followers of the classic Detroit sound will love it, but IMHO it's
too conservative and restrained.
