Well indeed they're not..
Both are space/sci-fi obsessed as a rule, often
derive their potency from the mesmerizing effect of continual repetion of
slowly changing patterns (cf Steve Reich), and rarely impinge themselves
on the mainstream press. Differences being, of course, a somewhat variant
BPM, and generally mutually exclusive audiences who don't know what their
missing. Does anyone know a record shop where you'd find `The Heliocentric
Worlds of Sun Ra' next to `777' and all those wonderful Suns of Arqa records
(which are definitely IDM to me)?
