I once saw a PBS show on hearing where the researcher tested hearing of back
country natives against the average American. Seventy year old people living
away from civilization all their lives have the hearing of teenagers.
Frankly, I'd take the advice of ear doctors and the National Hearing Institute
over hearsay when it comes to my hearing.
