"Misnomer" 12" - Four Tet - The long version on the vinyl is sublime. The full-length was spotty, but this ep blows me away with its depth and sincerity (not to mention attention to detail)> "The Sound of Music EP" - Spring Heel Jack - Bells, gongs, melodies and dissonance. A surefire recipe for an interesting stew. They are to be lauded for bridging the old and the new, and doing it with style> "The Brittle Ones" CD-R - Not groundbreaking, but superior to most every other chirpy crunchy beats-riddled IDM> "Peter and the Rooster" - Jason Hogans - Carl Craig's bunch discovers a(nother) work that is emotional, danceable, and bodes well for the future of house hybrids> _Toshoklabs Presents: Dated_ - It's all over the place thematically, yet doesn't sound tired or cliched. Or maybe I should just buy more records filled with names I'm not familiar with> _Symbiotics_ - Porter Ricks/Techno Animal - K. Martin finally turns in something superior to God (which is saying a lot), and Porter Ricks continue their inexorable march to a permanent seat in my cd changer> _Closer Colder_ - Faultline, _Osmosis_ - Outstanding representation from the label of the year, Leaf> _ep number 3_ - Yunx - To quote Depeche Mode "I just can't get enough"> Favorite tunes that won't come off my turntable/cd player: Rothko "Rivers Become Oceans (colour defines the cityscape)" "No.9 Pole remix" Jochem Paap "Dx-Snth" Alder & Elius "Bionic Vagina" sorry, but it's soooo catchy ... the 2nd coming of Miami Bass? Isan "Reno" curse my scratched vinyl!!!! Most underrated release: Freescha 12" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
