Back again with another pointer for Electric Lounge Machine (ELM),
New York's premier ambient room! Tonight and every wednesday at
432 W. 14th St. (west of 9th ave - where MEAT and CLIT CLUB are on
weekends). Doors open at 10. $5 after 11pm. Contact me and I can try
to get you on a list! Tonight should be pretty good turnout since
they handed fliers out at the orb concert.
For those who have never been, this is a very eclectic ambient scene,
& not so much focussed on contemporary ambient dub type stuff (although
some usually finds its way in). Usually there are two forward and one
reverse turntables, tape, cd, effect unit, etc. They also started
"dueling dj's", so every other week they have two complete dj set-ups
in the same room working off each other! (I think the next one is
next week).
BTW: I'll be doing some dueling there in the next two weeks or so
(specific date to be set tonight :)
