Well, I picked up the aforementioned double album last night and must sadly confess I was not swept away (as I immediately was with "Every Man & Woman is a Star" - except 'Weird Gear' *blech*). There are two straight-out vocal tracks which are better than 'Weird Gear' but still of no interest to me, and many of the remaining tracks have small gurgly vocal samples that just don't do it for me (as opposed to the groovy vocal edits on "Every Man & Woman...") There was one saving grace, however, and that was the track "English Heritage" - tragic title, but an excellent groove. Whereas I would describe "Every Man & Woman..." as a boomy full groove, I would have to describe "United Kingdoms" as mostly progressive house beats and on the corny side. This change may partly be due to the fact that it seems they tried to reduce the amount of samples used. My advice... wait for the cheap domestic US CD.
