Hi Peter. I just listened to Pop track 7 side by side and I agree, the new release is muffled / murky sounding on the bass and cymbal. The beatless ambient tracks like pop 2 do not suffer as much. I have that one from old mp3, pop ambient 2005 compilation and the new release and all sound the same. On the other hand, the new Zauberberg sounds better than the old one I have, but I think that was a bootleg (sshhh) so the mp3 might just be poor quality.
