I've gone back and forth on this issue a good bit myself. On the one hand, it is tough to help people ID tracks when everything is within one big mp3. On the other hand, it is tough to help people get a consistent listening experience when tracks in a continuous mix are broken up, because different players define "gapless playback" in different ways, and some mp3 players enforce gaps between files no matter what. I really like the CUE plugin for Winamp: http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details/143011 ...though lots of other players support CUE as well. You can create a tracklist of the individual songs and embed it inside the mp3, and/or keep the tracklist as a discrete CUE file (I do both). In the end, I decided that my desire for continuous playback by default trumped the other concerns, and in the unlikely event that someone was motivated enough to change what I was distributing, I suspect they would have an easier time splitting the single continuous file than putting together all the separate pieces. But as they say, your mileage may vary. Peace, Nick
