totally agreed on your additional points. i'm excited about the new
changes, but feel they could go further. renaming files is annoying.
beatport is my first DL site i joined, probably the first outside of
bleep.com i'd ever heard of. i joined because adult. had exclusive
digital downloads. ironically i listen to those tracks the least of
anything i've bought from there.
i'm hungry for more good techno (a la ellen allien, joey beltram,
metope, basteroid, audion, michael mayer, thomas brinkmann) and
dubstep (starkey, vex'd, and burial are amazing). but searching
through the site is labyrinthine and tedious. i understand how the
little arrows work but feel annoyed at having to make certain moves to
get back and check out the next thing. i think the new player will
take care of this though.
i'm glad they sell .WAVs (as does junodownload), but the "wave
handling charge" is kind of nuts. an extra dollar per track??? just
for getting proper quality? needless to say i've been reluctantly
making do with 320kbps mp3's but i'm not happy. FLAC or WAV with no
or minimal additional charge should become the norm.
