i'm not one to listen to hype...it seems this release generated a bit of a sensation,
but i ignored that.
i'm not familiar with 2-step or dubstep at all. but i have a smattering of
understanding of jungle/d'n'b and i am very familiar with dark ambient
atmospherics and also with joy division. the bits i heard on boomkat sounded like
if martin hannett had survived and begun producing underground dance records.
a bit like dj shadow and his scratchy record samples done minimal and creepy like
plastikman's 'consumed'.
