I'd like to give a shout out for people who still pay for music, and a
special shout out to people who still show up at shows.
This week I've seen
1) Jason Forrest and Duran Duran Duran
http://www.cockrockdisco.com
2) Euforquestra
http://www.euforquestra.com/welcome/index.asp
3) Kim Chi
http://www.kimcheerocks.com
Out of which I have 4 CDs and a 12" bought from the artists.
Sure I've got 60 gig of mp3s but I've definitely done my bit over the
years for supporting musicians -- 4 or 5 thousand LPs, nearly a
thousand CDs in heaps all over my house. I hope the idea of rewarding
artists financially if you value their music hasn't gone completely
out of style.
PS Kim Chi's show is nice musically (techno-ey asia-pop new wave), and
entertaining visually, and they're my homegirls so if you can check
them out live:
