man, i just can't agree with that, i am so sick of breakcore and the amen break these days. Its usually a fun night out, but i usually leave breakcore clubs swearing that i never want to hear another amen break in my life. (then usually end up somewhere similar a month later!) The thing that put me off the amen break was just over a year ago, Planet Mu xmas party. Place was packed and kids were jumping up and down all over the place while DJs were playing. One of the first acts of the evening came on, really good but no amen breaks in it, place just died off, people wandering off and stuff, but the minute they dropped an amen break back in, its like a mexican wave going round the room, just watching everyone spring to the dancefloor again as if they were hardwired to. I just dont like that sort of massive sheeplike movement. To me, thats just too easy to make a shitload of noise and then put an amen break under it, its like loweset common denominator or something. i totally appreciate a lot of acts working in breakcore, but theres only a handful of people doing interesting things with it i think. thor --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
